Insulation work, done in order
Insulation contractor in Palm Coast FL, from attic to crawl space
Quality Palm Coast Insulation Services is an insulation contractor in Palm Coast, and most of our calls start with a room that won't cool down, a drafty spot or an older house someone just bought. Across our 16 services, the order rarely changes. We find the leaks, seal them, then insulate. The price mostly turns on how much space we're covering, what's already up there and whether old material has to come out first. The schedule turns on access, removal and any repair we find along the way. I'll give you your own figure once I've seen the house.
Spray foam insulation
Spray foam goes on wet and expands into cracks and corners, so it insulates and stops air in a single layer. We use it where loose fill can't do the job, like the room over the garage or a tight roofline.
Attic insulation
Hot upstairs rooms and a climbing power bill usually point to the attic. We seal the gaps first, then bring the insulation up to an even depth across the whole space.
Blown-in insulation
Blown-in insulation is loose fill sent through a hose, so it settles around framing, wires and corners that rolls can't reach and covers an attic evenly.
Home insulation
Not sure where to start? We look over the attic, walls and crawl space together and tell you which one to do first, so the money goes where the house loses the most.
Insulation removal
Insulation removal is for attics where the old layer is past saving. We vacuum it out, bag it and leave clean framing ready for the new insulation.
Crawl space insulation
Floors that feel cold or damp over a crawl space usually mean the underside is bare or the old insulation has sagged off the framing. We fit new insulation between the floor joists, snug against the subfloor.
Wall insulation
We fill the empty cavities in exterior walls, which is often what an older home needs when its sunny side runs hot all afternoon.
Air sealing services
Drafts around doors, windows, outlets and plumbing usually come from small gaps you can't see. We find and close them through the whole house, and it's often the first thing I'd do.
Basement insulation
For homes that have one, we insulate basement walls and the rim joist, the band of framing sitting on the foundation, so the space holds a steadier temperature.
Closed-cell foam insulation
Closed-cell foam is dense foam that blocks moisture as well as heat, which makes it a good pick for damp spots like a crawl space or a rim joist.
Open-cell foam insulation
Open-cell foam is the lighter, softer spray foam, usually sprayed under the roof deck so the attic and everything in it sit inside the insulated space.
Commercial insulation
Own a small office, shop or warehouse? We insulate small commercial buildings with the same check-first approach we use on houses, sealing leaks before any insulation goes in.
Crawl space vapor barrier
A crawl space vapor barrier is a heavy plastic sheet laid over the dirt under your house, which keeps ground moisture away from the floor framing and the insulation above it.
Vapor barrier installation
Who needs a vapor barrier beyond the crawl space? Walls and floors where damp air meets cooled surfaces, and we place it so it keeps moisture out of the framing instead of trapping it there.
Attic air sealing
Attic air sealing closes the holes between your rooms and the attic before any insulation goes in, so the air you've paid to cool stays downstairs instead of leaking up.
Retrofit insulation
Retrofit insulation adds insulation to a house that's already built and lived in, through the attic, the crawl space or small holes in the walls, without tearing out drywall.
How a job goes, from call to walkthrough
You call or send a note
Call (386) 359-8197 or send a note through the form, and we'll get back to you within one business day. Tell us what's bothering you, whether it's a hot room, a drafty spot or an attic you're not sure about, and we'll set a time for me to come out.
I look at the house and write the estimate
I come out myself and look at the attic, crawl space or walls, including what's already up there and how deep it is. You get a plain estimate that says what I'd do first and why. It's free, and there's no pressure to book.
We do the work, then walk it with you
If the job needs a permit, we pull it as the licensed contractor and set up the inspections. Our own installers do the work, and when they're done I go over it with you, so you see what was done before we pack up.
Why hire us, and what we do differently
Want someone to look before they sell you anything? Send us a note or call (386) 359-8197.
Priced after I've seen your house, not over the phone
A phone quote can't see wet wood, buried vents or how many inches are already up there. That's why I don't give one, and your estimate fits your house instead of a guess.
We stop and tell you if we find a hidden problem
Insulation laid over wet wood, old wiring or a bath fan venting into the attic just hides the trouble and wastes your money. If we find one, we stop before going further, and I'll tell you to fix it first even if it pushes our job back.
A straight answer, even when you don't need us
Sometimes the insulation you have is fine and the real problem is an open gap around the hatch or the ducts. If that's the case, I'll say so instead of selling you a new layer.
Licensed, insured and our own installers
We're licensed and insured, and the people in your attic are our own installers, not a crew hired for the day. Before we pack up, they check that the eave vents are open, the edges are as deep as the middle and the house is safe to live in.
Palm Coast insulation questions, answered straight
How much does attic insulation cost in Palm Coast?
It depends on your attic, and I'll give you your own figure on the estimate. The size of the space, how many inches are already up there and whether old insulation has to come out first move the price the most. Air sealing, a hard-to-reach attic and the age of the house can add to it.
Is spray foam worth the extra cost over blown-in insulation?
Usually not, unless your ductwork runs through the attic. Foam costs more and seals air while it insulates, which pays off when the ducts live up there. In most other attics, sealing the gaps and topping up loose fill does the job for less.
How long will an insulation crew be in my attic, and do I have to leave?
It depends on the attic's size and whether old insulation comes out first, and I'll tell you what to expect when I write the estimate. With blown-in work or air sealing, you can usually stay home. With spray foam, you'll be out of the house until the re-entry time, when it's safe to come back, and we'll tell you that time before we start.
Does an insulation contractor in Florida need a license?
Certified contractors in Florida are licensed by the state, and they have to pass a state certification exam to get that license. We're licensed and insured, and it's fair to ask any contractor you're comparing to show you the same.
Why seal air leaks before adding insulation in my attic?
Because insulation slows heat but doesn't stop moving air, so gaps left open around can lights, pipes, wiring and the attic hatch keep pushing hot air into the house. We close those first, then insulate, so the new layer isn't fighting a draft.
Do you guarantee your insulation work?
Yes, our promise is your satisfaction, guaranteed. Your estimate spells out what we'll do and in what order, so you know what you're paying for before anyone climbs into the attic.
Can you put new insulation over the old insulation in my attic?
Often, yes, if the old layer is dry, clean and lying flat. If it got soaked or is full of droppings, it has to come out, because new material on top keeps the problem in your attic. I check what's there before I suggest either.
Do I need a permit for insulation work in Palm Coast?
Some insulation jobs may need one, and when it isn't clear for yours, we ask the city's building office before we start. In Palm Coast, the building official issues the permits needed before a building is altered or repaired, so it gets settled before our installers begin.
Palm Coast, our home base
Palm Coast is a city in Flagler County that runs along the Intracoastal Waterway, and a lot of life here happens outdoors near the water. Waterfront Park sits right on the Intracoastal for walking, running and fishing. Long Creek Nature Preserve has shell and raised boardwalk trails between Long Creek and College Waterway, and Bird of Paradise Nature Preserve has a launch for kayaks, canoes and paddleboards.
With that much water around, many owners want to know their flood zone, and the city offers a letter of determination that tells you which zone your property and house sit in, based on current FEMA maps. Most of the calls we take here start with a room that won't cool down or a house someone just bought. We're based in Palm Coast and do the same careful work in the cities around it.
